Final Essay Outline .
South Central is starting to improve , I definitely see a big improvement . We need to improve more on getting these teenagers to be respectful to people , also letting them know that stealing & killing isn’t the right thing to do . I do enjoy living here because i been in California all my life . I lived in Hawthorne & Gardena , then moved to South Central .
The three most important events that have had the greatest impact on making South Central , L.A what it is today are Watts Riots , L.A Riots , & Gang History .
The first event that has made South central what it is today is , the Watts Riots . Watts is a better place than what it use to be ! Its violence , but not that much violence as it use to be ! Watts Riots was started for no reason . I believe that starting that Riot was unnecessary . That crowd that started it was doing to much ! Starting a riot wasn’t gonna change the policeman’s mind
The second event is the L.A Riots . What I said about Watts is basically similar to what i have to say about L.A . Its crazy that Damion Williams (spell Check) threw a brick at Reginald Danny’s (name check) head . He hit the temple , once you hit somebody’s temple they dead . Reginald is dope ! I think he still living .
The third event is Gang history . People that are in gangs don’t know why it started , people now a days join gangs because they think its cool . They don’t understand why gangs were started & why did people join them . They think they tough once they get into one , then they end up in Jail , hospital or the grave . Smh .
Fred Hampton was born August 30,1948 in Chicago Illinois . He was an Activist & Deputy of the Black Panthers . He moved up the ranks of the Black Panthers party’s ! He was Dedicated & devoted to the Black Panthers !
The Next Unit !
The L.a & Watt’s riot subject looks pretty interesting ! I learned about some of that , but I’m ready to learn more about that ! So , this whole unit is going to be interesting to me . :) .
Broken Window Theory .
1 . The Broken Window Theory is like when the community is not cared for ! It basically lookk a mess .
2 . I seen a lot of places that were tagged on & it was trash everywhere . It was so much junk everywhere like wow … People need to get it together !
3 . It was mostly liquor stores , why is it when you go into a Black neighborhood you see a lot of liquor stores ? In a White community you will barely find any liquor stores , when you do find one it looks nice & clean .
The Buck/Brute is a stereotype from the media . They make it seem like just because one Black man did it all Black men are doing it . That’s not true . The White Males get the perfect Stereotype ! They are known as hero’s . Only White men though …. Anybody can be a hero ! A Black woman described as a Jezebel . Not all Black women are out there like that . So that’s not true !
